What is RunShare ?
RunShare is a product which accelerates AppleTalk networks (10Mbit and 100Mbit).
The RunShare product family includes:

Installation notes
This demo version will stop working 14 days from installation date. It may be installed onto four Macintosh computers.
If the demo installer image file is downloaded from a BBS or a CD-ROM, perform the following steps to achieve a successful installation:

- If you downloaded a StuffIt .sea (self extracting archive) file double click it to decompress it. The
result will be the "Disk Copy 4.2" image file (an image file with the Kind "Disk Copy 4.2").
See the procedure below for completion of the demo installation.
- If you downloaded a MacBinary (hqx) format file, use StuffIt Deluxe Translator to decode the hqx
file.
The result will be StuffIt .sea (self extracting archive) file.
Double click it to decompress it. The result will be the "Disk Copy 4.2" image file.
See the procedure below for completion of the demo installation.
If a "Disk Copy 4.2" kind image file is used :
1. Launch "Disk Copy 4.2" (found on most Apple system CD-ROMs, try double clicking the image file).
2. Perform "File/Load disk image" operation using the RunShare installer image file.
3. Perform "Make a copy" operation using a blank high density diskette as target media.
4. Use the RunShare Installation diskette to install RunShare demo software onto up to 4
Macintosh computers. One of the computers may be a FileSharing or AppleShare server.

Notes
- Do not lock (write protect) the installer diskette during installation.
- To create the trade mark character (™), hold the option key of the keyboard down and press the 2
key.
Do not install RunShare in the presence of anti-virus extensions (such as Virex 3.6). Please turn them off before installing RunShare.
It is recommended to install RunShare with all extensions off (prior to installing restart the computer and hold down the SHIFT key). Leave language extensions (i.e.: Kanji) on during installation.
Known Incompatibilities (RunShare for Macintosh Clients)
• Virtual Memory
Using RunShare with Virtual memory on, will in some cases cause reduced RunShare acceleration, and
in other cases may cause crashes or freezes.
• AutoDoubler™ (when the AutoDoubler init is active).
• RAMDoubler™ by Connectix.
Some older Farallon Fast EtherTx - 10/100 boards have incompatibilities with RunShare per the following details:
• Over 10BaseT, while receiving data the Fast EtherTx - 10/100 NuBus card is 10 - 40% slower
than other vendors (Asante and Dayna) while working with RunShare.
Farallon Fast EtherTx - 10/100 NuBus card - requires Farallon driver version 1.0.1.
This v1.0.1 driver may be obtained from the following Farallon sites (Internet):
• Farallon Fast EtherTx - 10/100 PCI cards do not work properly when 2 Farallon PCI boards
are on the same network with a third (any manufacturer) 10/100M board.
These bugs were reported to Farallon and they are in a process of fixing them.
If you encounter problems while using RunShare and Farallon 10/100 boards, please contact
Farallon for an updated driver version.
Interoperability with older RunShare versions
RunShare software version 2.0 is incompatible with RunShare software Versions 1.0, 1.0.1 and cannot exchange files with nodes running those versions. A file transfer to a node running Version 1.0 or 1.0.1 will abort with Error -27958 being displayed.
Please upgrade all computers running RunShare Versions 1.0 and 1.0.1 to the latest RunShare versions.
